From download
to your first sound.

A few clear steps for your instrument. Choose a hardware import guide or follow the PSynth installation walkthrough below.

01 / Hardware sound banks

Prepare. Transfer. Play.

Keep the guide beside your instrument.
Save a backup before sending SysEx.

Before importing

Save your current work and back up your sounds. The Moog pack replaces the entire preset bank, including all 100 locations (00–99). On the Tempest, confirm that the new project has arrived, then save it before changing projects or switching off.

Download your purchased ZIP from the order link in your Lemon Squeezy receipt, then extract it to find the .syx file. These guides describe the transfer process; they do not contain the paid sound banks.

02 / Software instruments

Install PSynth.

For PSynth and PSynth 2.
Windows installers and macOS packages.

Windows / .exe

Set up your instrument.

  1. Close your DAW. On our Instruments page, choose the Windows download for PSynth or PSynth 2.
  2. Open PSynthSetup.exe or PSynth2Setup.exe. Follow the installer and note the plugin location it uses.
  3. Start your DAW. Open its plugin settings and make sure it scans the installation location. Run its plugin rescan if needed.
  4. Create an instrument or MIDI track, select PSynth or PSynth 2, and send notes from your MIDI keyboard or the piano roll.

Plugin scanning and track names vary by DAW. If your computer blocks the installer, send us the exact message so we can help with your system.

macOS / .pkg

Set up your instrument.

  1. Close your DAW. On our Instruments page, choose the macOS download for PSynth or PSynth 2.
  2. Open PSynth.pkg or PSynth2.pkg and follow the package installer.
  3. Reopen your DAW. Refresh or rescan its plugin list if the instrument is not shown.
  4. Create an instrument or MIDI track, select PSynth or PSynth 2, and play notes from your controller or the piano roll.

If macOS reports a security or compatibility issue, send us the exact message, your macOS version and your DAW. We can check the right next step for that setup.

This walkthrough explains the installation process. For compatibility with a particular operating system, processor or plugin host, ask us before installing. PSynth 3 is in development and has no public installer yet.

03 / Troubleshooting

A little help
goes a long way.

The plugin is missing from my DAW.

Confirm you downloaded the installer for your operating system and completed installation. Restart the DAW and check its plugin scan settings. Compatibility also matters: send us your product version, operating system, processor and DAW version if it remains unavailable.

I cannot hear the instrument.

Check that the plugin is on an instrument track, the track receives MIDI notes, and its audio output reaches your master channel. Check the DAW’s audio device, output volume and track mute state.

The SysEx transfer finished, but I hear the old sounds.

A completed progress bar on the computer does not confirm reception by the synth. Check the MIDI destination, cable direction and SysEx settings against the correct PDF guide. On the Tempest, check that the imported project is loaded before saving it.

My purchased file will not download.

Return to your order using the link in the receipt email and try the Download button there. If a fresh link also fails, contact us with the product name and order number. Please do not send payment card details or passwords.
