Privacy & cookies

A little clarity.

What this website uses, what happens when you contact us or make a purchase, and when an external service becomes involved.

Browsing the website

This version of the website does not include advertising scripts, advertising cookies or third-party traffic analytics. Fonts and the website’s own images are served locally. Ordinary page views do not load external audio or video players.

The hosting provider processes technical information needed to deliver the website, such as your IP address and browser request information. Server logs may also be used to maintain service and investigate technical problems.

Contact messages

The contact form asks for your name, email address, selected topic and message. These details are sent to the Home Records Label contact mailbox so we can handle your inquiry. A ticket number identifies the correspondence, and a confirmation email is sent to the address you supply. Email delivery involves the hosting and email services used to send and receive these messages.

The form uses an essential session cookie to verify the request, check the displayed verification code and limit repeated submissions. If a submission fails validation, the information you entered is kept temporarily in that session so it can be restored when you return to the form. The session cookie has no persistent expiry and is configured as HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax; it is marked Secure when the form is served over HTTPS.

Please send only information relevant to your inquiry. We use correspondence to respond, provide support and follow up on the matter you raise. Contact us if you want to ask about information associated with your correspondence or request its correction or deletion.

Studio Notes newsletter

Studio Notes is a free email newsletter about Home Records Label plugins, sounds and music. Subscribing is optional and is not required to download instruments or buy sound packs. We process your email address and selected interests on the basis of your consent. The controller and contact details are given in the final section.

We record the date and version of your signup consent, the date you confirm your address and your subscription status. A confirmation link is valid for 48 hours. Unconfirmed signups are removed after seven days when the scheduled newsletter task next runs. Only confirmed, active addresses are included in campaigns. Each newsletter includes links to unsubscribe and change your interests. Withdrawing consent stops future newsletter messages; it does not affect earlier processing based on that consent.

Subscriber records are stored on our hosting server, and emails are handed to its mail service. The newsletter does not send your subscriber details to Lemon Squeezy or store your email address in browser local storage. Active subscription records are kept while you subscribe. After you unsubscribe, a limited record of your address, consent and unsubscribed status is retained to keep it out of future campaigns. You may ask us to delete that record by emailing contact@homerecordslabel.com. The administrator can remove it from the active database; hosting backups follow the hosting provider’s retention arrangements.

The server keeps a history of campaigns and whether each message was accepted by its mail service, failed or was skipped. Acceptance does not prove delivery to your inbox. The newsletter does not use tracking pixels or track link clicks. Its necessary session cookie, hrl_studio_notes, is restricted to /newsletter/ and protects signup and administrator actions. It is HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax and Secure on HTTPS. Short-lived hashed request identifiers limit repeated attempts and are removed on subsequent requests after their rate-limit period expires.

Appearance preferences

Your selected text size is saved in your browser’s local storage so it is remembered between pages and visits. This preference is not sent to our server. Use the A+ button in the header to switch between standard and larger text, or clear this website’s browser data to remove the saved preference.

Your chosen website language is saved in browser local storage as hrl-language and can also be included in a link’s lang query parameter. On a first visit without a saved choice, the website uses your browser’s language preference where supported. Translations are served from this website; changing language does not send your browsing activity or form contents to a translation provider. You can change the language in the header or clear this website’s browser data to remove the saved preference.

Store purchases

When you purchase a sound pack through our store, Lemon Squeezy hosts the checkout and handles your payment and billing details directly. Your digital files are available through Lemon Squeezy’s My Orders page. We receive order and payout information in our merchant account so we can manage purchases and provide support. Home Records Label does not store your payment card details. You can read Lemon Squeezy’s privacy notice for details about its service.

The store uses an essential session cookie named hrl_store_live, limited to /store, to verify checkout requests and limit repeated attempts. This session cookie is configured as HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict and is marked Secure when served over HTTPS. It is not used for advertising or traffic analytics.

External audio, video and links

External media is kept off until you select “Allow & play” on a preview. The notice beside each preview explains the connection to the named provider. Thumbnails are served locally. Permission applies only to that player and is not saved between visits.

Loading a player connects your browser to the named provider, which receives information such as your IP address and browser details and may use cookies for its own purposes, including personalisation or advertising. Use “Close player” to remove the player and stop further connections from it. This does not delete cookies the provider has already set; you can remove those using your browser’s settings. Opening an external link similarly takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

You can read the providers’ notices at SoundCloud, YouTube / Google and Bandcamp. You can browse this website without activating external players.

Download counts

Instrument downloads have a simple server-side counter. To avoid counting repeated requests for the same product in a short period, the server derives a hashed fingerprint from the product identifier, IP address and browser user-agent, and stores it with a timestamp. This is a pseudonymous technical identifier, not a claim of anonymity. The counter does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

The current implementation deduplicates requests for the same product within a 15-minute window. Entries more than one hour old are removed when a subsequent download request is processed. Without a subsequent request, entries can remain in storage longer; this is not a guaranteed one-hour deletion schedule. Total download counts remain separate from those entries.

Your choices

You can avoid external media, contact us directly by email, and manage cookies using your browser’s settings. Blocking the necessary session cookies prevents the contact form and store checkout from verifying submissions. To ask about access to, correction of or deletion of information you have supplied, email contact@homerecordslabel.com.

Depending on the purpose and legal basis of processing, you may also request restriction of processing, object to processing or exercise data portability rights. You can lodge a complaint with Poland’s supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
